Being a fan of Alias, I wanted to follow some of the old people to their new shows. Victor Garber has landed on Justice while the lovable "Sean" has landed on Heroes. While the ratings game has yet to be decided, I would say that Heroes seems to be the clear winner. Yet, I'm still rooting for Garber as Ron Trott in Justice. How lucky would one be to have ALL of the firm's partners sitting in on every case? I actually prefer the on-going case load that the slate of lawyers have to deal with. On-going cases make the show seem a bit more like a serial than the sitcom-ness of Justice. I still think the best drama-law show ever was Murder One. Victor Garber definitely operates better as a CIA agent than as the principal of a law firm. Though his character is meant to be stern, short and quite rude I don't think it works. Memories of Daddy Bristow keep flashing through my mind as he's dressing down a potential client or an archenemy DA. It's sad to see the slow, gurgling death of a good television now. Maybe over time the creators just lose interest in the show or the novelty just wears off. Given the shake-down was Alias, (maybe JJ got busy with the bundles of cash of Lost?), and in the death rattle methinks is Nip/Tuck. While launching as an innovative show, the latest episodes has the "good" day-dreaming apparitions. Will Grey's befall the same fate - is Burke going to get kicked off the show? Maybe I just ought to go back to the gustatory delights of the Food Network shows.
